Girl's Suggestions For Packing

Girl Packing List

side notes:

this is all very opinionated, and what I found successful last year on the trip, but to each is own.

my two pieces of advice I will give is 1) pack more than you think you'll need. because you'll find that you do need a lot. 2) comfort is key. by the second day you'll realize that you don't care if you
don't match, but that you just want to feel comfortable.

also, personally I think that we are all mature and smart enough to decide what is appropriate looking or not, so just use good judgement and you'll be good!

"Real Clothes"
Church Outfit (dressier, modest dress or skirt, remember though... it's hot outside)
One other "dressier" outfit for if we go to a nice dinner (still fairly modest, but not as much as your church outfit)
Two casual outfits incase you there is an occasion or you wear them to the church at night (personally, I always wore norts & t shirt to church at night though) (i might just really live out that comfort is key thing a little too strong)

"Casual Clothes"
35 t shirts...... okay not really but bring lots of t shirts (aside from work clothes). maybe anywhere between 6-10 that you wont wear at work, in this you could include globalx shirt and any other shirts from our team. these will be for when you get back from construction and wanna change, or when we go shopping, or to wear over your bathing suit, or to wear to Shalom at night, or when we go out into the streets of merida. also, its really hot in mexico and you sweat a lot, so its nice to have lots of clean t shirts
running shorts- all of us foco girls love our norts and you'll wanna have a couple pairs to change into. this kinda goes along with the above t shirts, you probably spend 95% of your week in running shorts (or athletic shorts, i dont know your style....) and just like the t shirts, youll wanna keep them seperate from shorts your gunna use to work in
if you wanna bring more casual outfits, thats cool too. like i said already, im a woman of comfort and kinda lazy and spent most of my free time just wearing t shirts and running shorts.

"Work Clothes"
NOTHING THAT YOU DONT MIND THROWING AWAY
5 t shirts that you don't care that get ruined. personally, i found that really big, light colored t shirts were the best.
2-3 pairs of athletic shorts that you don't mind getting ruined, also that are comfortable.
old tennishoes that will never be wearable again after this week

ALSO, there is all of the item for work like gloves, a water bottle, sunglasses, headband/hats/bandanas, good socks, and things like that.

TOILETRIES:
bring multiple tooth brushes, tooth paste, MOUTH WASH IS WONDERFUL!
shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, and all that good stuff (you're gunna feel so gross all week, bring lots of stuff to clean yourself with)
i found that baby wipes/hand wipes were great to keep in my back pack
all of the other great things you use to stay beautiful :)
also, there is no shame in bringing a straightener/blow-dryer/curling iron, i straightened my hair almost every night last year... no judgment there.

SHOES:
chacos, flip flops, tennishoes for work, tennieshoes for other times, church shoes.... just whatever you feel you need really.

OTHER:
two pool/beach type towels
small backpack to carry around with you (or your carry on)
multiple sunglasses
SNACKS
a journal, pen, devotional (stuff like that)

I'm probably forgetting a lot but this isn't a set list, this is truly just some suggestions, if any of the girls on the trip have any deeper questions that are haunting them about what to pack, or need help, call me or text me and I would be glad to help :)
